Vintage 1950s Black Velvet Hat With Birdcage Veil

Charming black velvet topper cocktail hat from the 1950s. Birdcage veil and a triangular velvet embellishment with rhinestones on it. Clips on either side to hold it to the head.There is no designer label but it looks like there used to be. The inside of the brim is lined in faille. Measures 20" round the inside.

Excellent vintage condition. The only thing to note is it appears that perhaps the veil has come unstitched on one side, but the way its attached to the hat everywhere else makes me think perhaps that was intentionally left unstitched in the first place so that it would swoop down over that side of the head. Veil seems intact.
