Vintage 1940s Book, "Short Stories of De Maupassant"

Lovely vintage book from the 1940s "Short Stories of De Maupassant". Blue cloth bound hardback cover with gold lettering. Published by The Book League of America and Blue Ribbon Books in New York in 1941. Guy De Maupassant was an 1800s French Author who is considered by some to be the father of the modern short story. Measures approx. 8" x 5.5

Great to good vintage condition. There is some damage to the spine and marks on the cover. The pages inside are intact and not coming loose (though yellowed with age of course) but there are cracks along the inner spine too.
