Vintage 1940s Black Rayon Dress With Shoulder Pads

Beautiful vintage black rayon dress from the 1940s. This dress is as amazing in front as in back. The bodice is a shiny silky fabric that could actually have some silk in it, patterned with large spiral-ey circles. Short sleeves and dramatic shoulder pads. V neck and smocking at the shoulders. The skirt has four tiers separated with large horizontal pintucks. Then in back are fun pleats at the waist in the bodice and interesting panels from the waist getting wider as it goes down. Metal zipper at the side. Small size, I'd say. No label.

Great vintage condition. The only real issue are areas of deterioration under both armpits. The fabric has just pulled away. Someone with better seamstress skills than I could probably patch these up and they'd be virtually hidden due to where they are. I've shown a photo of one. Priced accordingly.

There is some stretch to this fabric.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 42"
Waist: 27"
Hips: 36" this is a stretchy crepe ( unlike the bodice) so there's a bit of play here.
Shoulder to waist: 16"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 45"
